SMA Road Safety, leader in designing and developing road safety devices, won against the Russian company Zavod Prodmash at the Hague Tribunal for the counterfeiting of one of its crash cushion protected by the European patent.
The judgments came after the Russians company appealed against the precautionary decree of injunction is- sued in March by the Dutch judiciary following the complaint of SMA during the Intertraffic fair in Amsterdam. SMA was assisted by CBA with Mattia Dalla Costa and by Brinkhof with Alexander de Leeuw and Daan De Lange. SMA Road Safety’s devices distinguish themselves for their high robustness, incredible strength and wideranging suitability.
These devices fully meet the road safety requirements according to the European Standard EN 1317, assuring a great protection in case of impact. They are the most compact absorbers available on the market and for this reason SMA crash cushions and end terminals can be installed in tight spaces, like tunnels and junctions. SMA are completely made of steel, they are non-flammable and tunnel compatible according to the UNI EN ISO 13943/2004 (Fire Safety).
Their strength means that after a standard impact, only the damaged components need to be changed with the result of reducing the maintenance costs.
